Frequently Asked Questions

Because sunscreen is technically a topical medication, and many states require written parental consent before applying any substance to a child's skin. Some children have allergies to certain sunscreen ingredients. Getting consent also lets parents specify a preferred brand, which avoids allergic reactions and complaints.

Only with explicit written parental consent. This should be a separate, optional checkbox — never bundled with required consent items. Some parents have serious privacy concerns (custody issues, personal safety), so photo consent should never be mandatory for enrollment.

Any activity beyond standard indoor care: outdoor play, water play, neighborhood walks, field trips, cooking activities, and application of sunscreen or insect repellent. Each should be a separate checkbox so parents can consent to some activities and decline others based on their comfort level.
